Jim Shaw selected the title Dreams That Money Can Buy from a surrealist film directed by Hans Richter in 1944. His installation in the downstairs gallery contains 22 pencil drawings each featuring a single image — a dog, a piece of furniture, a visceral biological specimen, and a brain with cysts. These images are captioned with handwritten transcriptions of dreams.
